The Hidden Gems of Sooke: A Shopping Treasure Map

Updated May 30, 2026

Sooke

Sooke has a boutique and artisan shopping scene that rewards visitors who know where to look.

The shops don’t cluster on a walkable main street. They run along a stretch of Sooke Road between the Evergreen Centre and the harbour, with a few tucked a block off the main drag.

Once you know the layout, it’s a straightforward loop. This guide covers the shops worth stopping for, with parking notes below and a link to the full 19-store directory if you want to plan the whole visit in advance.

Showroom with a veiw shop local in Sooke great for visitors and travellers looking to do some shopping or grab a coffee

Sooke is a working town that grew up around logging and fishing, and the commercial strip reflects that history.

Shops developed in pieces rather than as a planned downtown, which is why they’re scattered across a two-kilometre stretch of Sooke Road rather than stacked side by side on a main street. The shops featured below are the ones we’d send our own visitors to first.

A visitor shopping guide map for Sooke, highlighting local boutiques and galleries. The map features a dotted red walking route connecting five key locations: A Sea of Bloom, South Shore Gallery, Carolyn’s Boutique, Soul of a Gypsy Boutique, and Artisan’s Garden. Icons indicate shopping spots, parking areas, and traffic signals, with a compass in the bottom right corner for orientation.

The map above is your starting point. It shows how the shops sit along the corridor and makes the two-kilometre spread a lot easier to navigate.
