This experience is built for people who want something peaceful and memorable, not loud or rushed. You’ll get the magic of a night paddle with the comfort of a guide, a plan, and included gear.
Full moon views from the water: You’ll see the moonrise from the bay, where the light stretches across the surface and the shoreline feels calmer and more intimate than it does during the day.
Easy, guided pace for all skill levels: You’ll get a quick lesson if you need it, then you’ll paddle with a guide who keeps things simple, safe, and relaxed.
Small group, big atmosphere: With only 6 participants, you’ll have room to find your balance, ask questions, and actually hear the natural sounds around you.
A little ocean learning without the classroom vibe: You’ll hear about the moon, the sun, and how they influence tides and currents, in a way that makes the night feel even more connected to the coast.

This is a 1.5-hour guided paddle designed to be calm and approachable. The exact route and meeting location can change based on weather and wind, so you’ll get the best possible conditions for an evening on the water.

How long is the full moon paddle?
The guided paddle runs for about 1.5 hours, which is enough time to get comfortable on the board and enjoy the moonrise without feeling rushed.
Do I need paddle boarding experience?
No. This paddle is designed for all skill levels, and you’ll get a mini lesson if you want help with the basics before heading out.
Where do we meet?
The default meeting area is Willows Beach at the north end of Esplanade in Oak Bay, and the listing shows 2634 Esplanade. The exact meeting point can change with wind and weather, and you’ll get the confirmed location after booking.
Why can the meeting location change?
Night paddles are sensitive to wind and water conditions. Changing the launch spot helps keep the paddle calmer, more comfortable, and safer.
What’s included in the price?
You’ll get the guided paddle, a paddle board and paddle, a lifejacket, and a waterproof flashlight. If you want extra warmth, some gear may be available as an add-on.
What should I wear for a night paddle?
Dress for the evening temperature, not the daytime weather. Wear outdoor layers and avoid cotton if possible. Bring a towel and a change of clothes for after.
Can I add warm gear like a drysuit?
Yes, drysuits, boots, and gloves may be available as an add-on (often $5 to $30). This is worth considering on cooler nights.
Is this suitable for kids?
The experience is described as suitable for all ages, but it’s still a night water activity. If you’re booking for children, choose based on comfort on the water and ability to follow instructions.
What if the wind or weather looks questionable?
The operator may shift the meeting location to better conditions. If you need to change plans, free cancellation up to 24 hours in advance gives you flexibility.
How far ahead should I book?
Because this runs on full moon dates and group sizes are small, it’s smart to check availability early and grab your preferred night.
