What you’ll do on the tour

Every trip is shaped by weather and wildlife movement, but here’s the general flow you can expect.

1) Check in at the marina

You’ll meet at Eagle Eye Adventures Headquarters at Coast Marina (1003D Island Highway, Campbell River). After check-in, you’ll get suited up and go over safety details before heading out.

2) Cruise Discovery Passage and island channels

You’ll travel through the waterways around Campbell River, watching for marine wildlife as you move through forest-lined shorelines and island-studded channels.

3) Watch and listen for whales

You’ll keep an eye out for whales such as humpback, gray, and minke, and you’ll use a hydrophone to listen for whale sounds underwater when conditions allow.

4) Spot a full cast of wildlife

Beyond whales, you may also see Pacific white-sided dolphins, porpoises, seals, and sea lions along the route.

5) Break for lunch, then continue the search
